About Liz

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!

Liz Gray, LCSW, RPT

I’m Liz Gray, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist.  I am licensed in both Illinois and Connecticut, as I recently moved to CT and became a New Englander!

I have extensive experience in home, school, and agency settings.  Most recently, I worked full-time as a School Social Worker with a part-time private practice in IL.  When I moved to CT, I was excited to open the doors to my new practice in Stamford, CT!  I am thrilled to get to do what I love- offer individual and group therapy; facilitate trainings and workshops; and offer clinical supervision to aspiring Social Workers.

Being a social worker means that I am never done learning!  I attend trainings whenever possible and have a special interest in sandtray therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

My Philosophy

I offer long and short-term therapy to individuals and groups in a safe and nurturing environment.  I enjoy a collaborative approach to developing and meeting goals for you and your family, as well as understanding your individual strengths and challenges.

I often engage clients in expressive arts– including, but not limited to sandtray, art, play, and EMDR.  These creative outlets work well with most clients, in particular, those who have experienced traumatic events or those with difficulty opening up in the therapeutic setting.

Licenses and Certifications

I am most relaxed in the heat–whether doing hot yoga, relaxing in a hot tub, or reading on a beach!  I am very fortunate to travel often and my favorite cities are Sydney, Australia and Paris, France.  Of course, I love my home state and will always have a special place in my heart for Chicago.  In my free time, I love to read, bake cookies, organize, and explore new coffee shops.
