“Everyone deserves a safe place to share their inner world, free of judgment or shame. With a combination of a welcoming and containing physical space, in addition to my warm and nurturing presence, my goal is for you to feel heard and accepted throughout the course of therapy.“ – Liz Gray, LCSW, RPT

Thank you for visiting my page!  My name is Liz Gray and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist.  I recently moved from Illinois to Connecticut and I love working with:

  • Women in their 20s and 30s who are going through a life transition, difficult adjustment, or simply want to process their thoughts and feelings with sandtray therapy, and
  • Children/adolescents ages 10+ who have recently experienced a distressing event (i.e. a car accident, house fire, or act of school violence) and want to process their experience with EMDR.

Benefits of Counseling

When a life-changing event happens, it can feel like your world is turned upside down.  You might reassess relationships, shut down or act out, or simply see the world in a new light.  You may find yourself asking, “who am I?” You might grieve the loss of the person you once were, or the child you once knew.

Grief, loss, and change can feel unsettling. It can feel destabilizing.  It can feel plain awful!

It doesn’t always have to feel so bad.

Let me help you feel like you again.

I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to help you process your feelings and experiences.  Through a combination of talk, art, sandtray, EMDR, and play (for children), we can work through life’s challenges together.

I help children and adolescents with the following:

  • Traumatic events (i.e. car accidents, house fire, school violence)
  • Grief and loss
  • Depressed and anxious mood
  • School difficulties
  • Life transitions (i.e. moving, changing schools)

I help young adults (women in their 20s and 30s) experiencing:

  • Life transitions (i.e. moving, changing schools/jobs)
  • Depressed and anxious mood
  • Grief and loss
  • School difficulties
  • Demanding jobs
